3 Reasons Why I Visit the Chiropractor
Chiropractic care is increasingly becoming a chosen form of alternative healthcare by many as our society becomes more aware of the importance of health, nutrition and other factors critical to leading a long and fruitful life.
Personally, apart from the “happy meal” years of my youth, I’ve been pretty aware of my health and have been relatively consistent in making good choices on what to eat and drink, activities to do and so on and so forth.
Throughout the process of growing up and learning about my body, I’ve also become aware of just how important regular Chiropractic adjustments are for my health and longevity.
With that in mind, here’s a few reasons why I choose to go to the Chiropractor when things just aren’t feeling right.
#1 – I Need to Stay Productive at Work
If you work long hours sitting at a desk like I do, chances are you’ll start to feel discomfort and / or pain as the days pass by. Good posture can help counteract misalignment caused by sitting, but let’s be honest, it’s near impossible to always be sitting perfectly.
I often develop discomfort in my mid-back because of slouching and it only gets worse the longer I don’t see my Chiropractor. Every two weeks I book an appointment for a Chiropractic adjustment and check-up, which resets the pain / discomfort in my mid-back and helps me to continue being productive at work.
#2 – I Work Out Consistently
Another reason why I choose to go to the Chiropractor is because I work out four to five times a week and being properly aligned is crucial to not getting injured. When my mid-back (from sitting too long) is acting up, I cannot by any means go to the gym and have a good workout. Nor am I even motivated to get my gym stuff together and head over.
I need adjustments to make sure that when I am in the gym, I can perform to the best of my ability without being hindered by subluxations. In short, Chiropractic care helps me accomplish my personal fitness goals by making sure my musculoskeletal system is working at maximum capacity.
#3 – I Have More Energy
When I am aligned and feeling good, I have more energy to spend on school, work and other activities throughout my day. That’s because I spend extra energy (whether I know it or not) to compensate for misalignments that are causing pain in my mid-back or other parts of my body.
I also know that Chiropractic care helps my nervous system to operate at full capacity. That means that the nerves responsible for my digestive systems are in top-notch shape and I digest my food more efficiently. The end result is that I have more energy because I am getting more essential nutrients from what I eat and drink.
Chiropractic Care Has Helped Me With…
Here’s a list of what Chiropractic care and its supplemental treatments (cold laser therapy, etc.) have helped me overcome throughout my life:
- Torn ACL ligament in left shoulder from sports
- Groin tears in both legs from sports
- Memory retention for studying and exams
- Decrease stress to perform better during exams
- Digestive problems; mucous and phlegm from eating carbs and dairy
- Viral and bacterial illnesses
- Sore wrists and elbows from sports
- Pain and discomfort in my low, mid and upper back from sitting at work
- Pain and discomfort in my neck from sleeping awkwardly
- Pain and discomfort in my knees, hips and ankles from sports
Visiting my Chiropractor has also opened a dialogue between us where I’ll learn about home stretches and various nutritional tips when I am at the clinic. This has helped me to be more healthy and productive in all aspects of my life.
The next time you’ve got a health concern, I recommend that you ask a Chiropractor and see if they can help you overcome it using a drug-free and holistic approach. It’s worked out great for me throughout my life and hope it will for you too!
