Do you have knee pain and are looking for treatment in Calgary? Did you know that Chiropractic Care is effective in treating knee pain in many cases?

As musculoskeletal specialists, Chiropractors are no stranger to treating knee pain, as well as for joint pain in other parts of the body.

Knee pain can have a negative affect on your lifestyle, causing you to reduce your activity levels or start taking more pain medications.

It can also prevent you from going out to dance with your family and friends on the weekend, make you miss out on weekend hikes and even leave you disabled on the couch after work all together.

Nobody wants knee pain, nor should anyone have to live with it. Have you ever considered consulting a Chiropractor for treatment?

Your Body is Connectedskeleton low body joint pain chiropractic care calgary

Part of Chiropractic’s core foundational training focuses on kinesiology: the scientific study of human or non-human body movement, addressing physiological, biomechanical, and psychological dynamic principles and mechanisms of movement.

In short, the whole body is connected to one another in some way.

For example, the knee bone to the leg bone, which is connected to the hip bone, while the hip bone is connected to the pelvis which is then connected to the spine.

Therefore, an adjustment on a misaligned spinal column, or a realignment of the pelvis could help restore function and reduce pain in the knee.

Chiropractors work with the spine through manual adjustments. When combined with complimentary treatment methods such as…

…your Chiropractor can be very effective in helping eliminate any knee pain you have.

Chiropractors also adjust your joint extremities and perform soft tissue therapy modelled after the proven “active release technique,” which can also help alleviate knee pain quickly and effectively.

Knee pain in many patients is frequently caused by reactive forces running up the leg from the ground in actions as simple as walking or running.

Sometimes it is caused by the hip/ pelvis being misaligned and externally or internally rotating as a result, ultimately affecting the knee.

I’ve seen nerve compression in the low back that is chronic and can weaken the quadriceps or hamstrings, affecting the stability of the knee and causing pain and symptoms especially when under high intensity.

A spinal misalignment can also cause knee pain as it may result in compressed nerves and weaken the supporting muscles around the knee.

Also nutritional deficiencies such as a lack of Vitamin D3 can result in knee pain.

With so many different causes, I perform a musculoskeletal assessment to determining the underlying cause of the symptom then create a customized treatment plan that will effectively reduce and eliminate the pain as quickly as possible.
