Good Nerve Communication is Essential for Good Health
Nerve communication is perhaps one of the most important functions in the body. The brain acts as the “control centre” for your nerves through the spinal cord, giving your body via its nervous system impulses which tell it how to function.
Without proper communication from the nervous system to the body, muscles may turn off and not do their job. The same goes with internal organs.
This is called nerve compression which almost always leads to misalignment, pain and other symptoms.
Misalignment – a short leg, unlevel shoulders or head, for example – is almost always a result of disturbed / less-than-optimum nerve function and / or nerve compression.
All the nerves that supply our internal organs (other than the 12 cranial nerves) and musculoskeletal systems exit between the vertebrae of the spine.

A Doctor Finds More than Expected
Dr. Henry Windsor, a man who was trying to disprove Chiropractic techniques performed many autopsies on humans and animals in the 1900s in search of what he was looking for.a
What he actually found was a high percentage of degenerative osteoarthritis in the vertebrae that dramatically affected the exiting nerve roots via nerve compression.
Dr. Windsor was able to correlate how those compressed nerve roots directly related to the cause of death in many of the post mortem subjects who he was studying.
It may have been a shocker to the doctor back then, but for Chiropractors in today’s day and age, it’s a no brainer.
Nerve Compression Can Lead to Degeneration
If Dr. Windsor were alive today, chances are he would advise you to do what you could to fix any nerve compressions you may have.
Car accidents, sports injuries and sitting at work are three examples of stresses that can contribute to nerve compression.
Even gravity has been shown to take its toll and assist in compressing the discs and nerves within the spinal column.
Lower neck nerve compression, for example, will affect your elbows, forearms, wrists and fingers. Nerve compression in the lower back will directly affect your pelvis, hips, knees, legs and feet.
Furthermore, nerve compression anywhere in your spinal column can affect associated organs connected to that particular “circuit breaker.”
That’s why in some instances a Chiropractic adjustment can help restore blood flow to the gut and help fix some types of digestion problems.
Prevent Degeneration Before It Starts
What would your life be like if you couldn’t walk or had to use a walking aide because of nerve degeneration in the lower back or neck?
I assure you, it wouldn’t be fun for you, or for your significant other who would likely step up to the plate and be your caregiver.
I have seen countless patients who ‘till this day believe that Chiropractic is all about pain management. I’m here to tell you it’s way more than that.
Chiropractic Care is a preventative, drug-free and holistic way to improve communication from the brain and spinal cord through the nerves to your musculoskeletal systems that help us walk, run, ride and sit.
Without these nerves functioning at optimum capacity and communicating effectively, nerve compression and degeneration could result in a huge lifestyle change for you and those that you care about deeply.
