Dr. John Battershill at Revelation Health Centre Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic has had several years of experience in helping people recover from traumatic brain injuries such as concussions with great success.

The way he identifies parts of the brain that are lacking function as a result of injury is by a method of evaluating output responses. He uses this information to create an in-depth treatment plan to restore function and help treat any other symptoms associated with the TBI.

John Battershill Revelation Health Centre Chiropractic & Wellness ClinicThe brain is in a constant talking dialogue with the body. If the brain is injured, it expresses itself downstream in characteristic of muscle weakness that is an expression of default in the message relay centre from the brain to communicate with the body. This is one way we identify Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in patients at Revelation Health Centre Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic.

Neurologists state that it takes 40 healthy inputs from the body to have one healthy output from the brain. What this essentially means is if there is a concussion or traumatic brain injury, activating the injured neurons so that they start to fire and communicate with each other is obviously of paramount importance to the restoration of function and the elimination of symptoms. This creates restoration of healthy nerve transmission that allows cognitive and executive functions, memory, self-organization and movement patterns to be restored to normal.

So if the brain is injured and it is expressed in the physical body via deficiencies, then the way to activate the brain contributing to the 40:1 ratio of input to output is to activate the five senses in specific patterns that help stimulate the brain.

The best example of this is an astronaut in zero gravity on board a space station for an extended period of time. He or she loses bone density because of a lack of pull from muscles, tendons and ligaments on the joints. He or she also may become slightly demented as they lose brain function because in zero gravity there is no input from the body to the brain.

I recently have had a patient into my office with a traumatic brain injury that was caused by electrocution. As he was washing windows, wind blew his back into a power line which sent 7000 volts into his body, causing him to suffer a traumatic brain injury.

Another patient had a fentanyl overdose which affected his brain, also resulting in a traumatic brain injury. I’ve also had several patients concerned about dementia progression, yet they had no concussion or trauma to their body or head.

I can say in all of these cases that we saw significant progress in a short period of time that was measurable based on what the body was telling me about the brain function.

If you have suffered a brain injury and are experiencing loss of function and other symptoms, I believe we can help. Call the clinic today and learn How we Treat Traumatic Brain Injuries today!
